Tip 1: Break it down
Developing and running an outstanding service can seem overwhelming. To make it more manageable, Families For Children set up a series of working groups, each with different responsibilities but the same over-arching goal.
Tip 2: Make goals personal
Impact isn’t always about generating big top-line stats – it can be about focusing on small but life-changing successes too. For example, Willen Hospice worked hard to personalise their service to aim towards individual goals like helping people go to the gym or sleep through the night.
Tip 3: Work with partners
Don’t feel you have to go it alone. Developing close relationships with outside partners can enhance your impact and raise awareness of your work. For instance, Greenhouse Sports worked with Loughborough University to produce a peer-reviewed study into what the charity has achieved.
