Disability Direct is a user-led organisation empowering disabled people, carers and older people to make their own informed choices, increase their independence and improve their quality of life.
What they’ve achieved
Disability Direct recognises that not everyone living with a disability thinks the same.
Rigorous on-going equality monitoring and training ensures that trustees strive to reflect the whole spectrum of service users’ experiences. This means that 85% of the board have disabilities – and they’re taking positive, practical steps to include more young, BAME and LGBTQ people’s voices in their valuable work.
